Community Economic Development: NOTICE TO MINORITY AND WOMEN BUSINESS ENTERPRISES

NOTICE TO MINORITY AND WOMEN BUSINESS ENTERPRISES

The Lake County Community Economic Development Department (LCCEDD) is currently updating its list of Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) associated with housing rehabilitation projects and infrastructure work.  LCCEDD and our 16 community partners that are part of Urban Lake County select contractors and suppliers for rehabilitation and infrastructure projects funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. All General Contractors selected by the Department must have or agree to obtain certification under HUD's Lead Safe Work Practices course.  No brokers will be considered.

This is a special outreach to make sure that minority and women business enterprises (MBE/WBE) are given the opportunity to participate in government funded building or rehabilitation projects financed through LCCEDD. Businesses wishing to be included must complete formal application at LCCEDD and must be licensed, insured and bonded to do work throughout our Entitlement Area (all of Lake County with the exception of East Chicago, Gary, & Hammond). All Lake County Codes providing for MBE/WBE businesses shall also apply.

Applications will be accepted during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Applications are required to approved and accepted by the Lake County Redevelopment Commission before being placed on the approved LCCEDD Contractor’s List.

The Department is located in the Lake County Government Complex, 2293 North Main Street, Room 310A, Crown Point, IN 46307. For questions please call Tim Brown (219) 755-3225 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday.
